At Blewbury School, your child’s attendance is important to us to ensure they achieve their full potential. Did you know that a child who misses school for one day a week will miss the equivalent of two years of schooling, and 90% of children whose absence falls below 85% fail to achieve 5 or more good grades at GCSE and a third of those children do not pass any GCSEs at all? Regular attendance at school really does impact on your child’s future!
Reporting Absence and Late Arrival
- Please call the school to leave a message by 9am on any day of absence. 01235850411
- If your child is late, you need to arrive via the main office.
- Registers are taken at the start of the school day at 8.45 am. Lateness 30 minutes after the start of registration is counted as an unauthorised absence unless there is an acceptable reason
- Medical appointments should be made out of school hours where possible. If an appointment is in the afternoon, your child should attend school for the morning and for the afternoon if the appointment was for the morning
