Dinosaurs!

In Science and Geography we have been learning about different types of rock and fossils.

Today, we have been trying to work out how wide a dinosaur step is.

On the hall floor there were dinosaur footprints. We measured the length of the footprints and the gap between them. We used a formula to work out the average stride length and the size of the dinosaur.

It was really fun and it was a good learning experience.

We have also been learning about Mary Anning, a famous fossil hunter – she is one of our House Scientists. She was the first person to find a full ichthyosaur skeleton when she was just 12 years old.
