Super start to summer term!

Children in DaVinci class have had a busy, exciting, and very interesting start to their summer term. Along with their teacher Miss Buckler and their teaching assistants Miss Freeman and Mrs Bayliss they have been looking at plants, nature and dinosaurs.

Their two weeks of plant related work included flower arranging, plant dissection, observational drawing of leaves, painting plants, bean planting, and preparing the School’s vegetable plot for summer planting by digging up some weeds.

Every Wednesday this class has a scheduled Nature School session, which takes place in a dedicated space on the school site. In this the children have been den building, pond dipping, minibeast hunting, flag making and have been observing seasonal changes. All really engaging activities that the children enjoyed while also getting some welcome fresh air and exercise.

Their 2 week focus on Dinosaurs led to some ‘roarsome’ writing.

This week, they have been learning about the Queen and the jubilee.
